|
Automotive Technology 1-6 (Grades 10-12)
This is a coeducational pre-vocational course. Students will receive pre-vocational and consumer level instruction and develop practical skills in the operating systems of the automobile. Instruction on the basic services to both foreign and domestic vehicles will also be given. Students will be given the opportunity to make basic minor repairs and service to vehicles.
Small Engine Mechanics (Grades 9-12)
One semester course designed to provide a thorough understanding of all basic types of various small engines, including 2-stroke, 4-stroke, and outboard marine engines. Theory, operation, repair, and maintenance are included in this course.
Electronics (Grades 9-12)
A semester course in the study of electricity/electronics concepts. It provides students with an awareness of electricity in daily living and develops knowledge and skills using related materials and equipment.
Visual Communications Technology: Drafting 1-8 (Grades 9-12)
Drafting covers the development of drafting skills from the general or exploratory to the entry-occupationally specific. The technical world uses drafting as its primary means of communication and depends on visual communications. This course meets the University of California “f” requirement.
Construction Technology 1-8 (Grades 9-12)
Construction technology standards focus on general construction technology, cabinet mill technology, furniture technology, building trades, pattern making, boat building, and entrepreneurship. The student’s acquisitions of new knowledge, development of awareness of individual interests and abilities, and application and transfer of skills learned in other disciplines are fundamental concepts in this cluster.
Banjo Making 1/ 2 (Grades 10-12)
A one year course in which student will learn construction technology standards for making a banjo. Basic music instruction for playing the instrument will also be provided. Supplies and materials are provided by the Deering Banjo Company, Inc. and D & D saw of El Cajon. By the end of the year each student will have a completed ready to play Banjo.
Guitar Construction 1/2 (Grades 10-12)
A one year course in which student will learn construction technology standards for making a guitar. Basic music instruction for playing the instrument will also be provided. Supplies and materials are provided by the Taylor Guitars. By the end of the year each student will have a completed ready to play Guitar.
