Algebra 1  (Grades 9-12)

Algebra 1 develops abstract applications of algebraic concepts by incorporating variables, symbols, diagrams, and graphing.  This course emphasizes algorithms, mathematics properties, relationships, and applications of mathematics in realistic situations.
Prerequisite: Successful completion of Math A or Basic Algebra.

Intermediate Algebra

(Description Coming Soon)

Geometry 1 (Grades 10-12)

Recommended equipment: Protractor, compass, geometry template (i.e., Geometer).  This college prep course is designed to familiarize students with the concepts of plane and solid geometry through the use of inductive reasoning and hands on activities.
Prerequisite: Successful completion of Algebra 1.

Geometry H (Honors) (Grades 9-12)

Recommended Equipment: Protractor, compass, geometry template (i.e., Geometer), Mira.  Honors Geometry is an advanced geometry course designed to develop geometric skills and concepts including skill in drawing, visualizing, following algorithms, understanding of properties, mathematical relationships and proofs.  This course incorporates the use of geometric ideas in real world situations and representations of geometric concepts with a variety of diagrams.  Prerequisite: Successful completion of Algebra 1.

Basic Geometry 1/ 2 (Grades 9-12)

This is an introductory course to plane and solid geometric concepts emphasizing a hands on approach.  Passage of one course beyond Algebra is required for graduation.
Prerequisite: Completion of Basic Algebra or recommendation from the 8th grade math teacher for Algebra 1C placement.

Algebra 2 (Grades 10-12)

Recommended Equipment: A graphing calculator recommended by the teacher.  This is a one-year course in advanced algebra and trigonometry.  The course thoroughly integrates and makes connections to other areas of mathematics, to other disciplines and the real world.
Prerequisite: Successful completion of Algebra 1 and Geometry.

Algebra 2  (Honors) (Grades 10-12)

Recommended Equipment: A graphing calculator recommended by the teacher.  This accelerated course strengthens algebraic skills and builds a solid foundation in trigonometry through applications, investigations, and hands on data analysis.  Students who successfully complete this course will be prepared for precalculus.
Prerequisite:  Successful completion of Algebra and Geometry.

Algebra 3 (Grades 11-12)

Recommended Equipment: A graphing calculator recommended by the teacher.  Algebra 3 builds and understanding of real world problems establishing a firm foundation for the future work in mathematics courses and applications.  This course focuses on strengthening algebra skills and is an introduction to elementary statistics.
Prerequisite: Successful completion of Algebra 2.

Precalculus H (Honors) (Grades 11-12)

Recommended Equipment: A graphing calculator recommended by the teacher.  This is a one-year course in advanced algebra and trigonometry.  It is designed to prepare students for the rigor of advanced placement calculus.
Prerequisite: Successful completion of Algebra 2.

AP Statistics (Advanced Placement) (Grades 11-12)

This course may be taken concurrently with AP Calculus or Precalculus.  Recommended Equipment: A graphing calculator recommended by the teacher. This course follows the College Board outline for the Advanced Placement Statistics course and is equivalent to a one-semester introductory non-calculus based college course in statistics.  The course will introduce students to the major concepts and tools for collecting, analyzing, and drawing conclusions from data used in social sciences, sciences, and mathematics.
Students take the advanced placement statistics test for which they may earn college credit.
Prerequisite: Successful completion of Algebra 2, and for Junior students, is concurrently enrolled in Precalculus.

AP Calculus AB 1/2 (Advanced Placement) (Grades 12)

Recommended Equipment: A graphing calculator recommended by the teacher.  This course follows the College Board outline for the Advanced Placement AB Calculus course and covers introductory differential and integral calculus.  Students will take the advanced placement calculus test for which they may earn college credit.  Prerequisite: Successful completion of Precalculus.
