You have probably heard a lot about our Academic Performance Index (API) score and might wonder what they may mean to you? To start, here is how the state of California defines it:
The API is a single number, ranging from a low of 200 to a high of 1000, that reflects a school’s performance level, based on the results of statewide testing. Its purpose is to measure the academic performance and growth of schools....
The API is calculated by converting a student’s performance on statewide assessments across multiple content areas into points on the API scale. These points are then averaged across all students and all tests.
Basically, West Hills is graded and compared to other schools based upon the results of the standardized tests taken in the second semester.
So as you sit down to take those tests, you should do your best for your school - together we can help West Hills shine! Go Wolfpack!
Here is a break down of how each test affected 2007-08 our API score.
