"Seniors who have been accepted to an accredited 4-year college or university, have applied for financial aid, and have received a response. The ideal candidate has demonstrated that he or she is capable of college/university work but does not have the financial resources to attend college.  Requires a personal statement, transcript and SAT scores." Seniors with leadership potential and a desire to give back to the community. Five finalists will be selected from all applications, and will each receive a $1,000 award as a means to supplement costs incurred through tuition, books, and living expenses. Scholarships will be awarded based on the student’s application presentation, references, and essay questions. Based on the feasibility, thoughtfulness, and creativeness of the essays, one of the five finalists projects’ will be chosen to receive $5,000 funding toward project completion. Ages 14+, submit an original entry of 100 words or less and tell us who has inspired you.  Ten (10) finalists entries (be sure to read what they will be looking for) will be posted on Facebook at facebook.com/KaplanSAT from June 10, 2013 to June 20, 2013 for voting by the general public and visitors to the site. Three (3) winners will be chosen based on the highest number of votes and will be selected as the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winner accordingly on June 21, 2013.
