Course Description
Environmental Sciences is an interdisciplinary field involving the study of our world, our culture, and the relationship of humans and the planet. It includes topics such as the Biosphere, Plate Tectonics, Global Warming, Conventional and Alternative Energy, Environmental Ethics, and many more. 

Instructional Goals
Students will have an understanding of the Earth and how it’s living and non-living parts interact to form a variety of ecological systems.  Students will know the complexities inherent in the science of the environment, and the difficulties applying our understanding of the environment in solving significant problems.  Students will learn and practice the techniques of research and scientific investigation in discovering new information about the Earth and its environmental systems.   

Prerequisites
Physical science and Biological science graduation requirement met.   

Level and Type of Work   
2 semester projects (first semester).  Each unit has study questions and readings. 

Tests are given every 2 - 3 chapters and consist of multiple choice and essay questions.   

What will a student HAVE to do to be successful in this AP level class?
Attend class, keep a lab notebook, keep up on all reading assignments,  and turn in all assignments.
