The Homecoming Dance is Saturday, October 17th from 7:00 – 11:00 pm. Ticket prices for this week are $15.00 for singles w/ASB sticker and $20.00 w/out. Couples are $28.00 w/ASB sticker and $35.00 w/out. Don’t forget to get guest passes from the VP secretaries. Students on the LOP (loss of privilege) list will not be allowed to attend.

Homecoming Spirit Week Dress Up Days – October 12 – 16th: Monday – Monsters Inc., Tuesday – Toy Story (Woody, Buzz, Andy, etc.), Wednesday – Incredible (Mr. & Mrs. Incredible, etc.), Thursday – Thrilling Cars (Lightning McQueen, Mator, etc.), Friday – Finding Nemo (Nemo, Dorey, Marlin, etc.).

Young Women's Leadership Workshop Series Presents: Branding Beautiful You! Marcy Morrison of "Careers with Wings" will teach girls how to identify their strengths, values and gifts. Learn how to put your best foot forward and get in the running for life's great opportunities at this workshop November 7th, 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Seating is limited. Teens-Sharp Hospice Care needs you! Would you like valuable experience to put on your college and scholarship applications? If you want to make a difference and have a loving heart, this volunteer opportunity is for you. Extensive training is provided, and begins on January 7, 5:30-8:30 p.m. Please call volunteer Services for an interview at 619-667-1900 by October 31, 2009.

Loss Of Privilege (LOP) List: Students who fail to follow the expectations for appropriate behavior may be denied privileges such as attendance at Homecoming, athletic events, and any other school sponsored activity. Review the student handbook for additional information.

Gymnastics Meeting in the Gymnastics Room at lunch Monday, October 12th. For anyone interested in being on the gymnastics team and participating in preseason.

Math Club Meeting: Monday, October 12th at lunch in room M-6. Anyone interested in problem-solving, math contests, or math in general is welcome. Bring a friend.

The Ambassador From Cuyamaca College's Outreach Department will begin sessions on Monday, October 12, 2009 in the Guidance Office from 9 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Students interested in meeting with this representative and obtaining information can sign up in the Guidance Office. PSAT testing will take place on Saturday, October 17, 2009 at 8:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. on WHHS campus for all 9th through 11th grade students. Cost is $18.00 cash payable directly to the Finance Office. PSAT is a standardized test that provides firsthand practice for the SAT®. It also gives you a chance to enter NMSC scholarship programs and gain access to college and career planning tools. Don't miss out on this important opportunity!

Miss Teenage California is seeking potential candidates. Their program stresses education, and encourages personal development, leadership, and scholastic achievement. University of La Verne Communications Day is Friday, October 23rd from 8:00 am –2:00 pm. High school students are invited to learn about the fields of journalism, audio and video production, photography and new media at this free event. Senior Portraits: Attention Class of 2010, your senior portrait must be taken by our official photographer, BOYD ANDERSON PHOTOGRAPHY to appear in the senior section of the annual.

Please make your appointment to be photographed as soon as possible because the deadline to be included in the yearbook is approaching.
