Boys’ Basketball: There will be a brief meeting Tuesday, October 27th at lunch (12:20) in room HE-4 for student athletes interested in trying out for basketball this year. Remember your physicals, and clearance card requirements.

Girls’ Golf: Nice job Wolf Pack! The girls’ beat Helix in their last match 235–288, to win a share of the new “Grossmont-Hills” League Title. Champs again! Match play begins today.

West Hills Gay Straight Alliance will have a guest speaker on Tuesday, October 27th. Ron Goetz, an active member of PFLAG (Parents Family and Friends of Lesbians and Gays), will talk to the club about family support and share the personal story of his son's struggle for acceptance. The meeting is at lunch, in room E-7. All are welcome!

Juniors and Seniors: Our class ring company will be on campus to take class ring orders on today, October 26, during lunch in front of the ASB/Student Store. The class ring ordering packet can be picked up from the Front Office Reception Counter or the Attendance Office. Don't miss this opportunity to order your official class ring.

The Ambassador From Cuyamaca College's Outreach Department will be at West Hills today, October 26, 2009 in the Guidance Office from 9 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Students interested in meeting with this representative and obtaining information can sign up in the Guidance Office. Attention All Students With Work Permits: Your school attendance is reviewed at the end of each grading period. If you have accumulated 6 or more period absences, tardies, and/or truancies your work permit will be restricted which means you will be permitted to work only on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Your current GPA is also reviewed. A student whose GPA falls below a 2.0 will be issued a restricted work permit. Please remember, “School is your first job!”

PTSA REFLECTIONS deadline is almost here! This year’s theme is “Beauty is”, and entries are due October 28th. There are six different categories for entries: Visual Arts, Photography, Musical Composition, Dance Choreography, Film and Video Production or Literature. SENIORS: SDSU rep will be on campus Wednesday, October 28, lunchtime, room L1 (across from library). Valuable information will be made available to you...please be sure to attend and bring your questions too!

National Novel Writing Month is in November! If you are a student and would like to try writing a novel in one month, take the challenge...if you finish your word count goal (12,000 plus) you can have your novel printed FREE and sent to you FREE! ATTENTION ATHLETES: El Capitan High School is offering sports physicals for Winter Sports Wednesday, November 4th at 1:30 pm in their Health Office. The cost is $20.00 cash. Please download an athletic clearance packet at http://wolfpack.guhsd.net (click on the Athletics link) or pick up an athletic clearance packet from the Finance Office before your physical.

PHYSICIAN SPORTS PHYSICALS will be doing physicals on October 24th at Scripps Ranch HS (girls' locker room) from 9am-10am, October 26th at Gompers Preparatory Academy (location TBD) from 2pm-3pm, and again on November 4th at Mira Mesa HS (Nurse's Office) from 2pm-3pm. ALL ARE WELCOME! Just bring school physical form and cash. Super convenient!

Loss Of Privilege (LOP) List: Students who fail to follow the expectations for appropriate behavior may be denied privileges such as attendance at Homecoming, athletic events, and any other school sponsored activity. Review the student handbook for additional information.

Attention Wolf Pack: Anyone interested in wrestling the Wolf Pack Express Wrestling Club meets Monday through Thursday from 3-6 pm in the Gymnastics room (located on the west end of the gym). Challenge yourself and become a member of the Wolf Pack wrestling team.
