Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA): Seniors majoring in science, math or engineering at four-year universities anywhere in the United States; 3.7 minimum GPA, SAT score at least 2040, or ACT score of at least 31. Due 4/30/12. $2000/year, renewable.

All About Education Scholarship: Ages 13+, complete an online scholarship, search profile at ScholarshipExperts.com. Submit an online short written response (250 words or less) for the question: “How will a $3,000 scholarship for education make a difference in your life?” Due 4/30/12. $3,000.

CollegeAnswer.com: Register online for monthly $1000 drawing and scholarship search. Parents can register for yearly $10,000 scholarship. Due 4/30/12. $1000-10,000.

Nordstrom Scholarship: Juniors, 2.7 unweighted GPA, eligible to attend a 4-year college, no criminal convictions. Scholarships will be awarded on the basis of academic achievement, awards/honors, leadership, school activities, community/volunteer activities, financial and employment history. Due 5/1/12. $2500/year for 4 years.

SPRITES of East County Scholarship: Senior girls planning to attend Community College on the basis of the following criteria: Need, GPA, community involvement, school activities, personal essay and Counselor recommendation.

Due 5/2/12. $500.

Santee Kiwanis Community Service Scholarship: Senior who has actively participated in community service, especially in the city of Santee, 2.75 GPA. Requires recommendation from a group student has assisted, transcript, and essay on the value of community service. Due 5/4/12. Up to $1000.

HOWL Applications are due to the VP secretaries by Wednesday, May 2nd.

Dress Code: Spring has sprung, the weather is warm, and everyone still must follow the school dress code!! Please no short shorts, short skirts or short dresses, no spaghetti straps or undergarments showing. Please review the student handbook for full details. The school dress code applies at dances as well. Remember that as you prepare for the upcoming MORP dance. Students will be turned away at the door if they are dressed inappropriately.
