Performing Arts

The West Hills Guitar Club extends their invitation to the parents and friends of West Hills High School guitarists for an evening of great guitar playing. Every year the guitar club invites a professional guitarist to perform in our theater to inspire the students and the surrounding community. The concert will serve as an educational experience and fundraiser simultaneously. The students will be getting credit and an assignment will be given. Their attendance is a required part of the class. Actively listening, assessing and reflecting on a live musical performance is an important aspect of music, equal to performing music.

The guitarist is Adam Rafferty and the date is Feb18, 2012 at 7pm.

 Adam Rafferty has established himself as one of the most refined, recognizable guitarists in New York. His playing is distinguished by a warm tone, a biting attack, and an ability to swing hard - and melodically - in every situation. In just a few years, he’s become a You Tube guitar sensation - his views are in the millions. Adam Rafferty has a lucrative career in performing in many interesting and diverse environments. Due to this new popularity he’s being discovered and this year he performed festivals in Bangkok, Helsinki, Germany and Austria to name a few.
